All art and design is a by product of culture, Communication Design is no different and is informed by ideas of public taste (aesthetics), technological shifts (innovation), and function (needs of a community). Design is also the product of the values of a particular time (era) and place (location/region). Context is everything. Without it, design is merely an object without a back story, an artifact without meaning or purpose.
