Bonnie and Clyde Surrealist Cards

Based on the archetype of “hero” or “villain”, a character was picked to research and explore as a deck of cards. An appropriate “villain” selected is the pair, Bonnie and Clyde. They are so intertwined as individuals that they are seen as this one entity.

The idea is that if two or more things are similar in some aspects, they are most likely similar in some further respect. The design focuses on connecting both lives through imagery and creating a collage as a whole. When viewing the deck of cards together, the viewer should gain insights about Bonnie and Clyde as individuals and as a duo.

Two different individuals that grew up differently, come together to find a similar fate. The imagry is inspired by their ives and how they are depicted, combining their lives on each card.
