1. Motion AnimationExplainer Video:  Why A Cube?

It all started with a simple question: How do people solve a Rubik’s Cube? As well as why a cube? But soon, I found myself diving into the story behind one of the world’s most iconic puzzles.

This explainer video takes you on a colorful journey, starting with the inventor himself — Ernő Rubik, a Hungarian architect and professor who, in the 1970s, created the cube not as a toy, but as a tool to help explain 3D spatial relationships to his students. What began as a teaching aid quickly spiraled into a global phenomenon.

STORYBOARDS V1 /As I was storyboarding and sketching my initial idea, I was focusing on the concept of how to solve the actual cube. This was not easy creating a 1 minute 30 second explainer video, so I reworked my concept by reframing my question.

Why a cube?
MOODBOARD /STORYBOARDS  V2 /After reframing my question, the visualization process was a lot easier. I was able to create a framework for how I want to animate this video.
RESEARCH /I dove into who created the actual Rubik’s cube. Along with the reasoning behind why it was made. I was trying to gain as much knowlege about this infamous puzzle as I could.
